John Wu pictures.
John served with the 131st Aviation Company (SPUDS) from November 1968 to November 1969 - and after a short trip home came back to serve again from January 1970 to July 1970. He has provided the following pictures.
John's notes about these pictures:
Attached are some pictures I have come across in one of my photos albums I thought
you might find interesting and would like to share with the guys.
There are couple photos of me, one in front of the hangar during one of our streaks cook out.
Couple photos of Larry Graham who I hung out with during my first year at the 131st.
A picture of the 131st flight line and hangar.
A photo of a TO and Crew getting ready to go out on a mission.
The guard tower over looking “piss alley”
I can’t recall the event or reason why all the SPUD was in formation.
I was the Crew on SPUD 24.
Also attached are a couple of recent pictures I took of the Phu Bai air terminal and tower.
I was on a bicycling excursion through Viet Nam from Hanoi to the Mekong Delta back In November 2017 and one of the stops was Phu Bai.
I tried to find the 131st and any familiarity to the area but nature has reclaimed the surrounding environment.
Also! The first thing I notice when the plane touched down on the runway was the missing corrugated aluminum panels.
