Ok folks, here’s the “gouge”.
Our property has a house, hangar and hangar apartment which will provide two full kitchens with his and her separate shower facilities. In the house, there is a full size bar named “The Aviator and Pudknocker Bar” styled after Pancho’s Happy Bottom Riders Club as seen in the “Right Stuff”. There is another bar/man cave in the hangar apartment and there will be a bar in the hangar. Food cost will be kept low as possible based on attendance. To be determined about a week before the event. I promise it won’t be more then you would usually spend when you’re on the road. The Friday night party will be sponsored by “Dogman” (aka Rich) and “Grinz” (aka Karen, my wife). Saturday and Sunday will be BYOB.
The proposed agenda:
People, RV’s, trailers, tents start showing up on Friday to get settled in. That night a “meet and greet” will take place in the hangar which will be set up with a bar, mixers, water, hamburgers/hotdogs, light snacks and stuff. The hangar will be set up like orderly/rec room similar to Ft Huachuca back in the 70”s.
Saturday we get up and enjoy Dogman’s (me) world famous scrambled eggs and ham with coffee, yogurt, orange juice and a few other things. Followed by an outing to get the VIP tour of the US Customs and Border Protection AEW P-3 Dome. If you haven’t seen one you will be impressed as it is a state of the art aerial detection package. (They are National assets and may be deployed). If that happens we can visit St. Augustine and, for you bikers, it is the kickoff for “Bike Week Daytona” as well. Upon return rest, cordials and conversation as we await the BBQ dinner and door prize raffle. All door prizes are constructed from Mohawk parts and I think will be wonderful operational keepsakes. When done we will adjourn to the fire outside and enjoy an outdoor movie projected on the hangar doors. In case of inclement weather it will be shown in the hangar. We stay up and BS until..... The uniform for the Saturday event is to wear something you once were. Army uniforms, flight suits, party suits and so forth. A bonus will be that I have about 50 quality flight suits of various sizes in blue, desert tan and green to issue those in need to keep as a momento for use at future reunions.
Sunday we get up to be greeted by Dogman’s world famous pancakes and bacon, coffee, yogurt and such. It’s a wind down day with nothing planned except for the great ideas put forth at the previous nights libation session.
Monday, depart at your leisure or stay.
